Quirky but cool

Had this fiddle in my shop the other day, unusual f holes.  Label says "Made in Austria" and that's it.  Pretty nice sounding instrument, actually, played by a really good local player (which always helps out the instrument :)

That's a quirkier f-hole than I've seen in some time.

I think I might print up some "Made in Austria" labels.

The label in this violin is printed with red type -- which nicely complements the very red varnish (it's actually much redder than this photo suggests).

But I think "Made in Idaho" is even cooler :)

You're nice, and probably right. I joke about it, but don't put false labels in my instruments. Nampa seems pretty common to me most of the time, but to folks from elsewhere, it might have some interest and possibly mystery.

Guess I'll have to return those Will Logan's Fine Violas labels I swiped last year at Claremont. :-)
