October is shaping up to be a very rich musical month in my world. Starting with En Francais and Fiddlers on the Bayou, I also played at Festivals Acadiens with Bonsoir, Catin last weekend -- one of the best weekends of the year around here -- and this week we're participating in 3 Louisiana Crossroads shows. The event is called "Accordion Blowout: Cajun, Zydeco, Lebanese and Conjunto." It will feature, appropriately, our accordion player in Bonsoir Catin, Kristi Guillory, who is a rather amazing and virtuosic musician, a small pack of dynamite who hits it hard on the Cajun accordion.
The first show in the series is tonight in Lake Charles, LA and it will be broadcast live on KRVS. You out-of-town friends can stream it live on www.krvs.org-- beginning at 7PM Central Time. Only tonight's performance will be aired on the radio.
The other accordion players in the lineup are equally amazing, so go ahead and have a listen, or come out if you can! Thursday and Friday nights the show will be at the ACA in Lafayette, LA. Tickets/info available here:
